Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Authentic Japanese (“the site”). The site is run by an individual operator (“the operator”). By accessing or using the site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

You can read the site, and post topics and comments, without an account. Some features — uploading images, posting clickable links, liking posts, and reporting content — require you to sign in. Account creation and login are handled by Clerk, a third-party service. You are responsible for activity that takes place under your account.

You keep ownership of the topics, comments, and images you post. By posting, you grant the operator a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, display, and distribute that content for the purpose of operating the site.

You are responsible for what you post, and you confirm that you have the right to post it and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights.

You agree not to post:

• illegal content, or anything that encourages illegal activity;
• harassment, defamation, threats, or someone's private information without consent;
• spam, advertising, or repetitive and off-topic posts;
• false or misleading information presented as fact;
• content that infringes copyright or other rights;
• obscene, violent, or otherwise inappropriate content.

The operator may remove any topic or comment that violates these Terms, at the operator's discretion and without prior notice. The site is run by a single operator, so reviewing reports and removing content may take time. Removal is not guaranteed to be immediate.

Posts made without an account (shown as “Guest”) cannot be edited or deleted by the person who posted them, and can only be removed by the operator.

Topics and comments reflect the views of the people who posted them, not those of the operator. The site is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, and is not guaranteed to be uninterrupted, accurate, or error-free.

To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any damages arising from your use of the site or from content posted by others.

The site relies on Clerk for authentication, and on third-party hosting and infrastructure providers. Your use of those services through the site may also be subject to their own terms. See the Privacy Policy for details.

These Terms may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute relating to the site or these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Japan.
